Domestic Skills

So when my friend Valerie decided to buy a box of pears and learn how to can them I decided to give it a try too! So we recruited Whitney and went to work. It was not as hard as I thought it would be but it was work. We were up way too late but it was fun to visit with friends while learning. Oh and Kaleb just loved eating the pears.

The pealing seemed like it never ended!

Filling the jars, these are pears not fingers.

Getting closer.

By the time we were done it had been over 4 hours, we were a tired bunch. But the finished product looked so pretty. Thanks for all your help Whitney!

Round two of canning went much faster and Nicole (and Steve) joined us!

One happy kid and his pear!

Nothing like a fresh pear to get a child to smile. Love it!!! Now you have to try peaches, apples, tomatos, jam and everything else.

Like I have said before, I am so impressed with your domestic skills! Pears look like a lot of work!!! But I'm sure they are yummy and definitely worth it with a smile like Kaleb's!
