Kaleb did great in the dark cave until we were about half way through then he wanted out. I am not sure if it was the cold, the darkness or a combination of both? Once we made it out he was a happy camper.
Mt. Saint Helen's was gorgeous. We made it just in time to see these purple wildflowers. This is definitely a place to go back to for hiking and camping.
The zoo was great as always. Kaleb had fun but just wanted to get out of the stroller and run. I was tired of chasing him around. We lost one shoe but luckily someone turned it in and we did not have to buy him new summer shoes. This time the polar bears were right next to the window. It is hard to believe how big they are, one paw is bigger than Kaleb.
Silver Falls was beautiful. On the drive there we saw lots and lots of Christmas tree farms. We had a yummy picnic and Kaleb saw several dogs and kept signing dog over and over again. I was so proud! Then we hiked to two separate falls where you can walk behind them. They were both so beautiful. The return hike was up hill and gave us quite a workout. To make it an even better workout Jacob had me running ahead to hide behind a tree and then jump out and scare Kevin, Kaleb, Grandma and Grandpa. This is another place to go back to. Anyone want to join us?
The Bonneville Damn and fish hatchery is fun to visit to see lots of fish but apparently we went at the wrong time of year. So we only saw a few, we did see the famous Herman the Sturgen.
It was great to have them here but as soon as they were gone Kaleb was missing the attention and activity! Thanks for making the trip and come again soon!
