A Day in the Life of...

...Kaleb and I. Beware this is a long post. I thought it would be fun to one day look back and see what we did when it was just Kaleb and I. After having more kids I am sure this will look like a breeze, not that it is too hard now, but you know what I mean. I have wanted to me a mom for a very long time, I love my little guy and would not trade it for anything.

6:23 am Kaleb wakes up, is happy talking/playing in bed. I love when he starts the day out like this. That is no screeming and not at 5:20 am like it has been!
6:41 am Kaleb has his bottle.
7:12 am Family prayer and Kevin leaves for school.
Kaleb and I like to wave goodbye from the window. Well technically he still does not wave but we are working on it!
7:15 am Finish folding and putting away laundry from last nights loads.
7:25 am Change a stinky diaper- Yuck! We try and find an interesting toy for Kaleb to play with while he is changed or else he gets away. It only lasts so long, he is standing up before the pants get back on, oh well!
7:29 am Back to the laundry, Kaleb plays nearby.
7:30 am He finds the snack container in the diaper bag and so he has some right then and there! I guess we better start making breakfast.
7:32 am Start breakfast
7:37 am Eat breakfast, waffels for me (leftovers) and Oatmeal and applesauce for Kaleb.
8:00 am Clean up our breakfast mess!
8:07 am I vacuume the breakfast mess and the front room while I am at it. Kaleb loves the vacuume, he always follow me around the house.
8:14 am Kaleb plays with his favorite toy these days (waterbottle with a little water in it) while I try and read my scriptures.
8:32 am Play with Kaleb, push the ball back and forth, rings and noise makers. He loves the attention.
8:48 am Time to get Kaleb dressed, and then quickly get myself ready for a walk.
9:17 am Out the door for a walk, it is a georgous day to go on a walk! We walk through the neighbor hood see all the trees and floweres in bloom. We end up walking about 2 miles.

9:46 am Kaleb falls asleep in the stroller (the warm sunshine and movement must be so soothing)!
9:52 am Home, transfer Kaleb into his bed.
9:53 am Finally I can shower and really get ready for the day!
10:25 am Ready and on to the computer, never mind something is wrong it is soooo slow!
10:27 am Call about fixing the TV. The good news is that we can get it fixed, the bad news is that we have to pay to mail it in. Ugh!
10:50 am Jacob (our nephew) knocks at the kitchen window, this is his way of stopping by to say hi and see if Kaleb is awake. I go outside to chat for a moment. Jake is sad that Kaleb is sleeping. They are great buds. Kaleb ALWAYS is excited to see Jake and gets a huge smile on his face.
11:21 am Clean/pick up the kitchen, doing dishes is not my favorite thing to do!
11:31 am The little man is awake and so very happy, we play peakaboo and then change another diaper.
11:40 am Fix and eat lunch
12:07 pm In the car, headed to the grocery store!
12:10 pm Call Kevin to see if he wants to join us, it is his lunch break and the store is near the school. He wants to come so we stop to get him. Jared and Julie and the kids are there too so we say Hi!
12:27 pm To the store we go!
1:18 pm Packing the grocerys into the car. Ouch...Kevin hits his head on the top of the car door. I guess there are some benefits to being shorter.
1:22 pm Back at the school, Kevin eats his lunch in the car as we chat! We see the Poytress family as they drop Aaron off.
1:34 pm Back to home we go, someone needs to get out of the car and needs a nap!
1:41 pm Home and unloading the car, not so easy to do when Kaelb wants to go with and can not walk well enough to just follow.
2:00 pm Kaleb has a snack, we read some books and play before nap time.
2:35 pm Kaleb is finally ready to go down, he is worn out! I get into cozy place and read my new book. The Boy In The Stripped Pajamas
3:07 pm Oops, I fall asleep too!
4:14 pm Work on getting dinner ready, turkey loaf with brocclii.
4:45 pm Kaleb is awake, we sit and cuddle for a moment while he continues to wake up.
4:55 pm Finish up dinner
5:20 pm Outside to play unitl Kevin is home. We can't miss being in the sun while it's here. Kaleb likes the front door and the wood chips, can you say yummy!

5:40 pm Kevin gets home, inside we go for dinner.
6:09 pm Once again we head outside for a walk. There are lots of people at the park, everyone has mowed their lawns, and we don't even need a jacket. It's Perfect
6:55 pm Home to put Kaleb to bed. Diaper change, pajamas, bottle, books, family prayer, singing and in bed to sleep!
7:11 pm Pickup around the house, toys and such!
7:18 pm Sit and talk to Kevin while he is on the computer
7:45 pm A little computer time
8:25 pm Read more of my book !
9:00 pm Watch the Office with Kevin.
9:30 pm Say prayers with Kevin and to sleep we go!

It was a good day, a happy baby, time with Kevin and the sun was shinning!

What a fun post! I love knowing what's going on with you guys.
I have to say I am jealous of:
-nice weather (it has been snowy and FREEZING here)
-two naps in his crib by himself! I need you to sleep train my next child
-reading a book, I need to get one!
-early bedtime, I need to start doing that! Last night I went to bed at midnight. UGH!

I loved the pics, Jacob looks so cute standing by the door and of course Kaleb is the cutest little chubbikins.
Good job!

I love that you took the idea and did it!! I find it so interesting to see what other people are doing all day. And it's fun to see what the "mom life" is like (compared to my "no kids work life"). I'm glad you took so many pictures! And I like that you went on two walks-- way to enjoy the outdoors and be so healthy. We miss you guys!!

I loved your post, thanks for sharing. I think finding time to read the scriptures was one of the hardest adjustments for me as a new mom. Thanks for the inspiration.
