Christmas vacation (a little late)

We had a wonderful Christmas in warm Southern California. We were able to do a lot of fun things but most of all I just loved being with family. Here is a quick run down of things that we did.

We celebrated my grandmothers 90th birthday! Almost everyone was able to make it, including Matt who drove down by himself and surprised us all. Alex the boys and 3 week old baby Sam stayed home. As a part of the party we had Grandma Mary answer questions about her life, we all learned some neat new things. We love you Grandma! John took some great shoots of the occasion, click here to view.

Kevin and I went to Disneyland and California Adventure. It was raining in the morning so there were no lines, it was perfect. I loved the Christmas decorations, the rides and the "snow," I did not like the scary roller coaster or the price to park your car. It was a fun date, thanks to my Mom for watching Kaleb. Maybe next year he will make his first trip to the happiest place on earth!

We went to the State Citrus Park, this is one of the things I love about home, orange groves and palm trees!

We played with family. Anna was very kind to share her room with us while we were there but was excited to have a bed back when we left.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of Christ by reading Luke 2, my Moms Christmas stories, singing songs and the Y family tradition of playing chimes. Kaleb slept through a lot of the action but here he is opening his first gift, with some help of course!

We took Kaleb to see the Mission Inn lights.

We had lunch at the beach, it was such a nice day but not warm enough to go for a swim. Kaleb loved to feel the sand and surprisingly he didn't put it in his mouth.

And we went to the San Diego Zoo.

While there we also took Kevin to the doctor for a sinus infection, visited with several old friends, Kevin helped put in a new door, we ate out at some favorite places, played Wii and Guitar Hero and just enjoyed the sun!

Looks like we had the same warm Christmas! It was weird to not have snow during Christmas though. Looks like you had a lot of fun.

Wow, I'm impressed with all that you were able to do on your visit! I'm glad that you had a good time. It looks like the cousins took good care of Kaleb ;)
