Kevin had a school break so at the very last second we decided to get out of town. Kevin came home late Monday night and said, lets go tomorrow morning and so we packed that night and left at 6am the next morning. And since we have wanted to do the Seattle stuff before we move, that is where we headed!
We decided to drive a little different route and head east and then north. So we visited Yakima, WA and stopped at Ensign Ranch. Kaleb got to ride his first horse. It was a love/hate type of experience. He loved seeing the horses and feeling them but getting on it was a bit scary. He screamed as Kevin set him on top but once they started walking there was nothing he could do but enjoy it. At the end he was proud to be a cowboy! And by some sad accident we no longer have any of the pictures or videos of this all happening. Oh well! I will still remember my cute little guy screaming to start and smiling and being so proud of himself by the end.
Next we went to Boeing headquarters where Kevin took a top secret (no cameras allowed) tour of their facility. They show you how they build their planes. The building is large enough to fit Disneyland and 12 acres of parking in it, they have bikes for employees to use to get around, and it was very "cool" to see how they put it all together to make a plane! Here is a picture from where the tour begins.
The following day we went to the Seattle Aquarium. Kaleb enjoyed all the animals and interactive things to do there. The aquarium is right on the water, Kaleb did not stand still for a picture but Kevin did!
Avery was happy as always, she smiled and enjoyed the new sites and sounds!
We also went to the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum and the Pacific Science Center. There were lots of chances for Kaleb to get his groove on and you better believe he did!
We also got to see an I MAX 3D film, Kaleb choose the show about Elephants and Chimpanzees. Kaleb has never experienced the 3D and was trying to touch the animals when they were close by. I loved seeing his excitement and joy as he watched the show. Avery a little harder to entertain for the show, she had a snack, played with my glasses and watched a little of the show as well. But it was a good thing the show ended when it did because she was done!
We took the hotel shuttle downtown but walked a good deal from site to site. One afternoon as we headed to Pikes place market Kaleb was getting tired and asked to sit on dad's shoulders. It didn't take long for the little guy to fall asleep. You know a kid is tired when that is a comfortable place to fall asleep. And as you can imaging 38lbs of dead weight is not comfortable either. Since Avery was in her car seat stroller asleep the only other option (or so we thought) was to put him in the carrier. The carrier looks a little funny when you have a kid whose legs fall down to your knees, but at least he got a bit of rest!
One of the things we did was a harbor cruise, and loved it! I loved seeing and learning about the city. It was a beautiful day and we had beautiful views of the city. Kaleb loved it for a different reason, he got an Italian Soda with "cream"

Going to Seattle means going to the Space Needle, did you know it was build in for the Worlds Fair and the city liked it so much that they decided to keep it. "The Space Needle marks a point in history of the City of Seattle and represents American aspirations towards technological prowess. [It] embodies in its form and construction the era's belief in commerce, technology and progress." This was said to be what buildings would look like in the 21st century, oops not quite!
And finally we made it to the Museum of Flight. It was a fun museum but we were tired and ready for home!
One of my favorite things about this trip was seeing Kaleb rock out in the recording rooms, he loved playing the drums, keyboard and performing!
I love spending time with my little family, I can't imagine life without them! We are new at traveling with two kids so many lessons were learned. But I think it is a great start to many more family outings with the people I love most!

What a fun trip and great pictures! WIsh we could have met you there!
That picture of Kaleb in the front carrier is hilarious, GIANT BABY! :)
Avery is beautiful as always, love that smile!
OOps, that was me Steph...not John. Although I'm sure he would agree with me.
Can't get enough of the hilarity of Kevin carrying Kaleb in the baby carrier! Classic. So glad you had fun in Seattle. We loved visiting that place when we were in WA. I'm curious of the lessons learned from traveling with two kiddos. I'm just feeling somewhat comfortable traveling with one, and it causes me anxiety to think of handling that one plus a baby :)
