Redwoods- Day 1

This past school break we went on a road trip. We decided that while we live here in Portland we needed to see some of the nearby sites and the large, no HUGE Redwood trees was one of those things! It was the first road trip more than 3 hours and I was a bit frightened that Kaleb would be horrible in the car. But of course he surprised me and was great! We headed out after a regular morning, we ended up getting on the road about 8:30am. We took our time and enjoyed the ride. We headed out to the coast and made many stops along the way at all the gorgeous beach look-outs and parks. It was a perfect day to see the coast!





We had lunch at the Oregon Sand Dunes. It was amazing to see this lush green forest and then all of a sudden these huge yellow sand dunes. Most people there were on their four wheelers, dune buggies or other vehicles so we decided to park at the large hill and have lunch while we watched the action. Some of those people are crazy!
Of course Kaleb took his nap after lunch.
Then after about ten hours on the road we made it to our destination!
